For my double exposure selections I chose my picture of a bright red autumn leaf from the beginning of the year and the picture I have of the icicle. This image shows a transition of weather and shows a different time of year. The autumn leaf appears to be fading out while the icicle is shining through. The background on the icicle shows a snow covered ground and bare trees. The leaf is on the ground in the original picture, so it shows winter is beginning to happen. The photos are overlapping each other in this picture of double exposure. The positive space is where the leaf and the icicle cross. There is negative space in the background where the trees are. To blend these pictures together I put the leaf "behind" the icicle photo. I used a filter in order to make the colors appear brighter. This photo portrays a couple of things such as nature and renewal. When the bright leaf falls to the ground, it is the first direct indication of the weather getting colder and the snow is not far away. To improve my composition I could have cut out the cement background that is lightly shown on the icicle picture.
